Oh, the new 30 Seconds to Mars song I've been waiting four years for.
The rest of the album better be fucking hardcore space adventure greatness.

I wish I could just send the songs I love most to the people that I want to hear them, in only one heartbeat, and have them know just how the song makes me think of them.

| New York City, August 25th-26th, 2009. |
[01 Sep 2009|01:11am] |
So I really love New York City.
On Tuesday, August 24th we left Sharon at 10:30am, of course 3 hours later than we planned. We stopped once and got to NYC at 2:30pm. Took us a half an hour to find parking. We were staying with Meridith’s older sister, Adrienne. She lived on E 74th st on 1st Ave.. I don’t know if I say that properly but whatever. I’ve got the basic idea for how to get around the city now. So much easier than Boston!
We hung around the apartment for a while because it was nearly 90 degrees outside. We then rushed over to the M.E.T. which is absolutely gorgeous! We only had about an hour and a half to walk around, so we definitely need to go back. When the museum closed, they herded everyone out to the front steps.. there were hundreds of people all smooshed outside! The MFA in Boston probably has that many people inside of it during an entire week! So after the museum closed, Karyn and I walked around the city a bit until we headed back to the apartment. At night, we took the metro to Times Square and walked around that area. I’ve only been to Times Square once and it was during the day, so it was beautiful at night with the lights. And the most ridiculous crowds I’ve ever seen. I can see how New Yorkers probably hate that area. We headed home and all passed out because we were tired, sweaty and exhausted.
The next morning, Karyn and I got dressed and headed to the Natural History Museum over on the west side. But before we could go there, we needed to find a Payless so Karyn could get sneakers. We then crossed over Central Park and walked to the museum in 100 degree heat. That museum is AMAZING, and that too had hundreds of people inside. We only spent a quick hour inside because Karyn wanted to head over to the concert at 2pm, so we then took a taxi to the concert on W 51 street, 11th Ave. The show was fun. We left NYC at 12:30am and were home by 4am.
So besides the city being big, dirty and hot, I really loved it. I haven’t seen nearly enough of it, so thank goodness we have some friends in the city that we can stay with. I think I could see myself living there someday.
Plus I've been watching Sex & The City all summer, so that just made me even more excited to be there. Can't believe I only live 4 hours away from that city and I've only been there twice!

| NINE INCH NAILS. Terminal 5, New York City, August 26th, 2009. |
[31 Aug 2009|08:48pm] |
Karyn and I took a taxi over to Terminal 5 around 2pm. We were probably 60 people back in line. Eventually they split the line into Presale ticket holders, and Ticketmaster ticket holders, so people kinda got fucked because it got messy and disheveled.
Karyn and I sat next to these 2 kids our age. They had been to two of the N.Y.C. shows, and told us NIN played some of “The Fragile” the night before, which depressed me to no end because I would’ve LOOOVED to have been to that show. The girl told us that they were going to play mostly “Pretty Hate Machine” that night. Our friend Pam flew from Boston to N.Y.C. around noon, and met up with us in line. At 7pm, the doors opened and hundreds of people bolted to the stage.
We ended up being a few people back from the barricade. We saw the people we were standing next to in line right up front, and they let us come up next to them. The opening band, Mew were pretty good and I really liked them. Better than fucking Deerhunter..
I kept looking up on the balconies for celebrities! Are at least the Queen. But alas I couldn’t find any. Apparently Kanye West and his girlfriend were at the show the night before, according to pictures I found online which is pretty cool.
At 9pm, Nine Inch Nails graced us with their presence.
Setlist 1. Pinion/Somewhat Damaged 2. Wish 3. Last 4. Sin 5. March of The Pigs 6. Something I Can Never Have 7. Piggy (nothing can stop me now) 8. Metal 9. Terrible Lie 10. Head Down 11. Burn 12. a.k.a. the same songs they played at our NINJA show in June! Songs from “Broken” and “Pretty Hate Machine”.. I was hoping for something a little more special than that. I know it’s amazing that I got the opportunity to see them live one last time, but I was hoping for something different. I really would’ve loved to have heard more songs off of The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, or With Teeth, and even my favorite older songs. It seems that the rare songs they never play live are my least favorite. I was just hoping to hear my favorite songs long, which I still haven’t and never will now. I was happy to hear “Sin” and “Something I Can Never Have” however.
BUT... 32 fucking songs! They played for two and a half hours.. so so amazing. It went by too fast, and the heat and sweat was just so much that I was wiped out after the show.
I have NEVER, EVER been so sweaty, disgusting, wet, drenched, slimy, hot, squished.. In my entire life. Two songs in, and I had lines of sweat dripping off of my chin. My makeup; which usually stays on perfectly through everything.. Makeup I can barely get off with oil makeup removed.. Had basically melted off my face and down my cheeks and into my eyes. I couldn’t open my eyes for a few songs! Haha. Thank GOD the security guards kept giving us water, because we were all dying. The squish wasn’t so bad.. Not nearly as horrid as the Worcester show, but I was able to stand. My friends all left for the back, but I got pushed right up to one person behind the barricade. People were fainting left and right. Two people just dropped right beside me at the same time. I was standing next to a huge tall muscle-y man with no shirt, and normally being squished up against someone would be annoying and sticky.. But we were so soaked with sweat that our skin just slipped right off of each other whenever we bumped into each other. Which is really gross, I know.
I have become a huge huge fan of Rob Sheridan. And so when he came out to snap pictures in front of us.. I thought that I’d be a creep and take pictures of him too! I love him!
Peter Murphy came out.. Upside down I should add and sang a few songs. That’s how they ended the show.. With a duet of not even a Nine Inch Nails song. Kinda pissed it had to end that way.
After the show… if I were to ring out my dress, sweat would have actually dripped out of the fabric. I have never been that sweaty EVER. My entire body was drenched, my hair looked like I’d been in a shower, and oh my GOD did I smell! I think I could’ve pissed myself while in the crowd and nobody would have even noticed, that’s how wet we all were. I felt so bad for the taxi driver who picked us up haha.
And that, my folks, is the last time I will be seeing Nine Inch Nails live.
I'm so pissed! I would've given anything to hear "Right Where It Belongs"... and 8.29's show in Chicago got it :(

| NINE INCH NAILS. Comcast Center, Mansfield, MA. June 3rd, 2009. |
[05 Jun 2009|02:33am] |
First, I woke up this morning vomiting. Which obviously means I had a fun 21st birthday!

Karyn and I bolted to Mansfield to the Comcast Center. We were there by 3pm.
- I saw some people I knew, including antisocialxgrl. We waited outside the venue until 4pm, where they then took all the people who donated money to Eric inside and lined us up again. We then stood there until about 5:30pm?? It was raining, it sucked, and my feet were KILLING me because I wore the stupidest boots ever. They eventually moved us into this big white tent in the back of the venue so we didn't stand in the rain. Groups of 20 went in to meet the band. It felt like you were in line for a rollercoaster you were really nervous to go on, and once it started moving, there was no going back!
- First I met Robin. He's beautiful! I didn't know what the fuck to say, so I just said "Hi, I'm Kim".. ugh, haha. Then I met Justin, who spoke kinda strange.. almost overly nice? He was cool. Then Trent. What a MAN! I didn't know what on earth to say, so I just asked how he was, he said he was OK despite the crappy weather, and then I said something stupid like.. "it's all good!"... yes, I paid $150 to fucking talk to Trent Reznor about the god damn WEATHER. FML. And then I met Ilan. I wish I knew the band better so I could've actually had a conversation with them, but I suppose I'm just going to have to live with the fact that all I did was say hi and smile profusely.
- They lined us up again and this time, we took group pictures. As the two people before us left, Karyn and I walked over to the band, and Trent says, "Finally, normal people!" and he OPENED HIS ARMS OUT TO TAKE IN KARYN AND I. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. When he held us, he said, "Oh, you guys smell good!" and then said something along the lines of, "This is nice" to which Karyn replied, "we can stay here all day!".. after the picture, Karyn asked for a hug and hugged the whole band.. while I last-secondly blurted out to Robin, "ILOVECIRQUEDUSOLEIL" and he was like, "Oh, why thank you!" and he gave me a hug and I like, bashed my forehead on his chest cause I'm a huge asshole.
- We then went back to the other tent and waited another 45 minutes with the rest of the 100-150 donors, and eventually Trent came over and did a little Q&A session with us. I wish I'd known why everyone was standing at that corner of the tent, because I ended up getting stuck in the back, almost unable to hear or see. Some people asked the funniest questions. It was interesting and really fucking cool that he did that. I am really sad that this is the last time NIN will ever be touring, but whatever Trent decides to do next, I'll be there.
- The staff who helped everyone out during the M&G were awesome and patient. So props to them.
So we FINALLY get into the PIT around 7pm, after standing for 4 hours. Street Sweeper Social Club came on, and they were pretty cool.
At 7:55, Nine Inch Nails came on. Their setlist:
Home Somewhat Damaged 1,000,000 Discipline March of the Pigs Piggy Metal The Becoming Echoplex Burn Gave Up La Mer The Fragile Gone, Still The Way Out is Through Wish The Hand that Feeds Head Like a Hole Hurt
- Unfortunately, I wasn't really thrilled with this show. It seemed really short compared to Lights In The Sky tour. I missed the amazing lights, stage and cool effects of that tour. And honestly... I am a really big NIN fan. But apparently I suck because I didn't really know a majority of the songs. I'd never even heard Home, Metal, Burn, Gone Still, The Way Out Is Through, Wish... like what the hell? I HAVE all their albums, but I think I just somehow always skip over a buttload of songs. I know for whatever reason, I never listen to The Fragile (Right) haha. Anyway, the setlist for LITS was just.. amazing, because I loved and knew every single song. And this show, I didn't really know anything. But that's ok, because now I've fallen in love with "Metal." But it's a bummer that; there was no "Closer," there wasn't more from "With Teeth", or ANYTHING from Year Zero. I suppose that's what being a relatively new(er-ish) fan will get ya.
It seemed like there was so much more energy in the LITS tour, too.
- And, as awesome as it was to allow big fancy cameras in... IT SUCKED. I would like to thank the assholes infront of me who think waving a camera all over the place is a good idea. Because it's not, and EVERYTIME I moved my head to see the stage, the girl infront of me put her stupid camera in my view. Granted I take pictures and videos too, but I keep it directly infront of my face; not out and all over the place. It was REALLY irritating. And also.... NOBODY MOVED. Nobody was dancing.. the PIT was dead... compared to LITS where I nearly suffocated and died and it was all amazing. I just didn't walk away with a good vibe from this show. When I walked away from LITS, I was BLOWN AWAY. But oh well... maybe next ti--- OH WAIT :*(
Don't get me wrong, I had an amazing time. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining, but I'm just saying.
- Being down in the PIT, when Trent talked about wanting to kill himself while writing "La Mer," I did NOT hear more cheers. I heard, you know, 17,000 fans and audience members all in the same place. Although, I wish I knew the reasons why he wrote all of his songs. That would be an interesting read, I think.
We left as Jane's Addiction was coming on. I saw Dave Navarro shirtless on the side of the stage. I'm told that's usually it.
My feet were in SO much pain I walked out of the PIT and took my stupid shoes off. That was the dumbest idea I've ever had. They still hurt, too!
I didn't meet too many other fans, but I want more NIN friends, so BE MY FRIEND!
So yea, this whole experience has been insane. NIN is a wonder. It's not fair that it's over.
I have a broken point & shoot. When I zoom, white lines appear in the lens. So I had to edit every single picture to attempt to get rid of them. Unfortunately some pictures have annoying white lines through them :(

| Shiny Toy Guns. The Middle East, Cambridge, MA. April 26th, 2009. |
[27 Apr 2009|04:42am] |
I saw Shiny Toy Guns tonight with Caroline and her friend.

Got to the Middle East around 7pm. Waited around while numerous people around us were making out. It was awkward.
The first band was Herra Terra, who I fell in love with. They're all from Massachusetts. They're just a super fun electronica band.
The second band was Semi Precious Weapons. WOO BOY. They're interesting! Haha. The lead singer was wearing super tights and high heels. I ended up talking to the drummer after the show, and it turns out he's originally from Canton, MA and had Dr. Lite as an orthodontist.. as did I!! Haha. That band was really nice and like.. introduced themselves to US.. I wasn't waiting to meet them, I was just standing there and they came up. They were cool.
STG always has the best fucking openers. The Delta Fiasco is now one of my favorite bands.. and that's rare for an opening band!
Shiny Toy Guns was next. Sisely has bright blue and blond hair now. It's exactly how I always wanted my hair, but was never able to pull off. She seemed much more dancier/ into the music than when I saw them in October. They played the usual songs, which is always good/bad. I'm actually really fucking sick of hearing "Le Disko" and "Don't Cry Out."
They didn't play "Major Tom" which makes me angry, because I really love that song right now... it's their new song! Why didn't they play it! I really dislike their new album. It just sucks. I only like 2 songs off the album (Frozen Oceans and When Did This Storm Begin) and they only played one of those.
They were good. I always have fun dancing to their music.
I eye-fuck Mikey every time I watch them play. I fucking love watching him drum.. I don't know, it gets me. I LOVE HIM.
After the show I met Mikey. I turned around and BOOM, there he was in my face. Oh my god I love him and I've had a super crush on him for years. HIS LIPS. Someone on stage gave me his drumstick so I had him sign it. He thought I was giving it back to him because it wasn't a used one. He wrote something on the stick I can't read. I'm pretending it's his phone number.
Then I met Jeremy who was also super nice. I was a total tool though cause the girl who took my picture for me.. didn't really take it, so I had to go back up and ask for another one. I'm such a.. fan. Ugh, haha.

I need a new camera because my zoom is broken. Also I don't know how to take unshakey pictures. And I think my singing has improved because I keep hearing myself in my videos and I'm like.. hey I sing better than the original singer!

| The Birthday Massacre. The Middle East, Cambridge, MA. April 22, 2009. |
[23 Apr 2009|06:10am] |

Tonight a friend from school and I went to the Middle East in Cambridge to see The Birthday Massacre! I saw them open for Mindless Self Indulgence last summer, and maybe because I was so far away, I didn't really enjoy their set.
There were two opening bands, Dommin and I Am Ghost, neither of which were good. We befriended some drunk marines in front of us, who gave us their spot because they were 6'5, haha. So, we got right up to the stage.
Chibbbbii!! Is so fun onstage! They're all super fun. A few times she sang at me, and I'd sing back. I got really good videos ad I had a lot of fun! The audience was fun too, and I feel like we talked to a lot of people there.
They played all my favorite songs. An incredibly gorgeous stagehand randomly handed me a setlist, too. And I really wish I'd asked for his number. But oh well, I'll be back at the club on Sunday.
We went to the buses after the show where we found O.E. who was really nice, and had us go back into the club to meet the other members. I have a horrible crush on Owen. There's something about tall, super skinny, lanky boys who play the keyboard that get my fucking heart pumping, hahaha. He and I discussed videogames. I want to be his best friend. Then we talked to Chibi, who was also super nice and friendly. She was complimenting everyone adn hugging us.
I need to see them again so badly! I love them!

| The Faint / Ladytron |
[09 Apr 2009|06:12pm] |
My sister and I got to House of Blues around 8:30pm.
House of Blues is NICE! The last time I was there, when it was Avalon, I was seeing 30 Seconds To Mars, and before that it was Evanescence, hahaha. I don't remember what it looked like before, but I'm guessing it's just a lot nicer and bigger.
I got right up beside the stage on the right. I could've been down on the floor with all the dancing hipster kids, but I stayed up beside a railing and had a perfect view. I couldn't see any projections, but I was close and I need to see more shows from this angle.
Ladytron was good. Their music is so much fun live!! However, they don't do anything. They don't move. My sister said they were o.k., she didn't think their voices went well with the music. Helen really does have a powerful voice. We missed 2 Ladytron songs, and I'm thinking they were probably "Ghosts" and "Runaway."
Setlist Soft Power Playgirl High Rise International Dateline Season of Illusion Versus Seventeen Fighting in Built Up Areas Destroy Everything You Touch
The security guards were fucking INSANE. IF anyone even showed a speck of a camera, they'd come out and attack you. So I couldn't take many pictures or film, which sucks. I tried to sneak in some videos, but they're all awful and facing the ceiling hahaha. I just held it under my face and didn't look to see where I was filming.
There were some DJ's inbetween Ladytron and The Faint. They were wicked fun. I liked them a lot.
The Faint was fun. I only have one album, and luckily they played like 3 or 4 songs I knew, but other than that, I had no idea what they were playing.
The crowd was a lot of fun too. Everyone was just having such a good time dancing, no pushing or stupid bullshit that happens at most shows. I fucking love dancing.
There was a 21+ afterparty I would've loved to have gone to down the street from my sister's apartment, but my sister didn't want to go and also, I'm only 20.
After the show I had to walk home because it was the easiest way to get home. I walked towards the Pru. But of course, I have to walk under a tiny, dark bridge with a bunch of drunk guys standing in front of it. That was a bad idea, because they started yelling at me, throwing things and one guy started following me asking if I was running away from them, and if I was scared. We were beside a little river and I swear to god, I thought they were going to kidnap me and eventually drown me in said river, haha. They went away, thank god. But I was scared, haha.
( A few pictures )
The video's are on my Youtube, but they're just so bad I'm not linking them, haha.

| Nine Inch Nails. DCU Center, Worcester, MA. Nov 9, 2008. |
[11 Nov 2008|03:00am] |
NINE INCH NAILS

Yup. Best concert I've ever been to. And good, because I'm not planning on going to any more shows for a long, long time.
Got to the DCU Center around 6pm, half an hour before doors open. When we got inside, we were relatively close to the stage. There were these ridiculously obnoxious 14 year olds behind me who WOULDNT SHUT THE FUCK UP. And then on the other side of Meridith was this mother-daughter team. The daughter kept tapping everyone's shoulder saying, "EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE ME I CAN'T SEE.. PLEASE MOVE.. MOVE PLEASE I WAS HERE FIRST" aaaannd that was ridiculous too. There were some pretty goddamn ridiculous people in the audience.
The opening band.. DeerHunter.. was pretty much the worst opening band I've EVER seen live. People were actually booing. It was some tall, lanky dork in a sweater moaning into the mic. And a questionably female guitarist who DIDN'T MOVE the entire performance. It was god awful. They weren't a bad band... just NOT fucking good for opening Nine Inch Nails. When I think about the fact that last year in Europe, LADYTRON opened for NIN... I cry a tear to myself. That would've been muuuccchhh better.
Then everyone's beloved came onstage. Ok, so I was the sixth person back from the barricade. When they came onstage.. of course you expect to be crushed together. BUT JESUS CHRIST is was awful!! My bag was being pulled one way, my body the other.. so I was basically choking while staring into NIN's seizure inducing lights, all while being punched and kicked and pushed around and squished. The man behind me kept trying to kick my legs from under me, so I had to kick back. Anyway, so I went from 6th back to being basically 2nd row for the entire show, that's how squished. It was fantastic. It was scary though.. in the beginning I wanted to cry and move back, but I sucked it up. We were almost dead center, right in front of Trent.
They played mostly new songs from "With Teeth," "Year Zero" and "The Slip." Which I suppose is good, because they're the albums I know best.. but there were some heavier, older songs I would have enjoyed too. Also, I thought I knew most NIN music.. but apparently I don't because I found myself unable to sing along to a lot of songs. I think that even though I've listened to them a thousand times, I still have yet to pick up on the lyrics. There was even one song I hadn't heard before, so it must be from the one album I don't have. During "Reptile," Peter Murphy, lead singer of Bauhaus, came out and sang.
Set List (for the most part) in order. I know I'm missing a few songs.
1,000,000 Discipline March of the Pigs Piggy Head Down Closer The Warning The Great Destroyer About 2-3 "Ghosts" songs that I don't know because I haven't listened to that album. Terrible Lie Survivalism Only Hand That Feeds Head Like A Hole Echoplex Reptile God Given Hurt In This Twilight/ Piano ending with Zero-Sum
They came on right at 9pm and ended right at 11pm. TWO FUCKING HOURS!
I'm sad I didn't get to see "Me, I'm Not", "Right Where It Belongs" or "Beside You In Time.'
Oh my god the STAGE. The lights were fucking amazing. The stage was amazing. The setup was crazy. They had these huge, touch/air sensitive screens that came down to the stage, where if someone got close to it, the lights would disappear and you could see through. So Trent would run up and down beside it and the whole screen would change. The visuals were fucking ammaaazzziinnggg. During "The Great Destroyer" I nearly fucking died. I just remember the night years ago that Karyn and I were driving really late through the city and this song came on the radio, and I so badly just wanted to fly off this planet in a space ship. And the visuals and sound to this song live just.. ugh, were perfect. Trent was using some crazy machine that he controlled with his fingers to make all the sounds, and it looked super fun to play with.
For most of the show, I basically just stood there. I couldn't dance and I couldn't move. I kinda wish I could've been far away so I could get the full effect of the visuals and so I could've danced... but I totally don't mind being 5 feet away from Trent Reznor. He is one crazy performer. He was sweating since song 1. ROD, TELL ME WHAT HIS PERSONALITY'S LIKE!!
This dumb fuckin bitch infront of me on the barricade kept putting her ar up at one point to take pictures. SO I put my arm on the barricade. I wasn't trying to steal her spot, and I wasn't taking up all her room. Once she saw me put my arm down, she started elbowing my arm to push me off, and her drunk skanky little friend kept trying to push me away. So I tried with all my might to keep my hand on the railing, before she turned around and said, "Could you PLEASE move your arm?" and this made me sooo freaking angry and irritated that I screamed back, "I DON'T HAVE ANY FUCKING ROOM, I CAN'T MOVE" and she just turned away and didn't say anything back. Her drunk little friend was like, "Woah.." and laughed. Also, whenever I would lean on her, she would arch her back and push me off.. AS IF I HAD ANYWHERE ELSE TO GO!!! Oh my god, it gets me so angry just thinking about it. I wanted to punch her fucking face.
Anyway, it was just nuts. Totally worth the money. And I must see them live again, however long away that may be.
( PICTURES OF NINININININININININININNNNN )
- I didn't realize if I zoomed in BEFORE I start recording, the videos came out much clearer. So, the only one that's clear is "Reptile." The sound gets screwy in some songs too. I have no idea why.

| Shiny Toy Guns |
[21 Oct 2008|09:22pm] |

Monday night, I saw Shiny Toy Guns at The Roxy.
Got there around 7pm. There was almost NOBODY there, which was surprising. There were two opening bands, the first one escapes my mind, but the second band was The Delta Fiasco which was a hardcore synth band that I fell in looovvee with. The synth dude looked like Bray from The Tribe, and made me giggle. However, their album isn't nearly as synthy as they are live which was disappointing.
Shiny Toy Guns came on at 9pm. The new girl, Sisely, is ok. Her voice is good on Frozen Oceans, but I don't know if she's good live. I was up close, but it was hard to hear her most of the time. In some of the old songs, she didn't even sing the female vocals. She looks like Posh Spice, too. I don't really like how she looks just like Carah Faye.. just because she isn't in the band anymore doesn't mean they have to dress someone up to look like her.
There wasn't a big intro. By the time they came on, there were more people in the club, but not many at all. I was up front the entire time with no trouble. I guess I thought a lot more people knew of and liked Shiny than they actually do.
They played:
Starts with One Le Disko Waiting Stripped Ricochet Poison (New) Rainy Monday Love(New) Rocketship Don't Cry Out You Are The One
They ended RIGHT at 9:55pm... which is incredibly odd. I've never been at a show before that ended at 10pm. They were good. I don't think many people like Sisely. Guess we'll see when the new album comes out.

| Cirque du Soleil: Kooza. |
[06 Oct 2008|01:27am] |
Wednesday night, pretty much one of my dreams happened. I got to watch Cirque du Soleil's Kooza from backstage! I got to hang out with Cirque people.

Around 7pm, Tim and I headed to the tents. We got there at 7:40, and Justin let us into the site. We sat in chairs in the little couch area with a big screen TV that showed the stage. We basically just sat there for 2.5 hours. I mostly watched what was going on behind me. The performers all were practicing their acts on mats and goofing off with each other. There was another family watching the show on the couches, but they were family members of the Tight Wire/ Wheel Of Death performers.
Justin was really sweet. He would come over and talk to Tim and I in between his cues. We talked about Boston and school and random things. Talked about art and shopping. We didn't really have anything in common that we could like, actually bond over but that's ok. I don't know, at this point since we've sent a bunch of emails back and forth, we're facebook friends and I've met him before, I'm not as starstruck as I usually am, and he's only 6 years older so we're KINDA in the same like.. mentally. Except for the fact that he's the main character in a show by one of the biggest companies in the world. I thought it'd be cool if we could actually be aquaintances instead of performer/ fan, but that's ok.
- The contortion girls were insaaaaannnne. I just tried to imagine if I was backstage at Varekai, I wouldn't take my eyes off of Irina. I think it's so fucking fascinating to watch. They do it with such ease, but if I even attempt to bend my back too far it hurts like a bitch. Anyway, I heard the youngest one, Natasha Patterson, talk and she sounded like she couldn't have been older than like, 8.
- The Solo Trapeze girl was gooorrgeeeouus and made me really jealous. I can't figure out who I saw though, because neither girl on Tribune looks like the one I saw. She looked really miserable backstage though, I didn't see her smile once or talk to any other performer. I think it was Yulia though. I LOVE the music to that act though, and I've been humming it in my head. The family we were sitting next to had a little girl, probably 5 years old. Her mom had her take a picture with Yulia, and it was funny because I really wanted a picture with her too and I wanted to go push the little girl out of the way haha.
- The PickPocket, Lee Thompson, was hysterical. His personality in the show is the same in real life. He was really friendly to talk to and was making jokes.
- I met Gordon White, and he was super friendly too. We only breifly discussed how I saw him once in Varekai when it was in Boston.
The show itself was good. During Wheel of Death, both performers went on top of the wheel at the same time, and I don't think I've seen that. Still scared meee
A few times Tim and I tried to say something to a performer... but they'd just smile and nod their head and then we'd realize they didn't understand what we were saying haha.
I wish I'd taken pictures of some of the costumes, it would be sooo cool to sue for my Visual Language project :(
I talked to one of the girls, Danielle Ricciardi. I've seen her Facebook, and who is she mutually friended with? Dana and Leah Ricciardi, two girls I went to Middle and High School with. I asked Danielle if she knew them, and she somehow knows Dana from Franklin Pierce.. (although Dana has no idea who she is.) I just thought what a small world this is! She said she had a friend from Natick and went to the Natick Mall all the time and I was just like.. floored. That a Cirque du Soleil performer knows people I went to high school with and goes to the same mall and goes to the same town Tim lives in and I'm in all the time. You really do forget that they're normal people too.
It was strange being backstage. It kind of desensitizes you from the show. When you're in the audience, you see the show and you think how absolutely amazing it is. When your backstage, it just looks like a real job. The performers go onstage, do what they have to do, and come off and sit on a couch or read a magazine until they go back onstage. When you're in the audience, you think they must be the most amazing people on earth, and then backstage, they're so normal. Of course I always knew that, but I got to see the show from a completely different perspective, and I felt a part of it, and that was awesome.
After the show ended, Justin took his make-up and costume off. I saw some of the other performers giving audience members tours. He ended up walking with us to the train station, and we talked about other Cirque shows and sports.. I think. Texas, too. And Boston, again. We got on the train with Stephan Landry, who plays The Innocent. He was really friendly, too, and we talked to him on the train. Some women were watching us from the end of the train. Justin got off at South Station and Stephan got off at Downtown. I guess they're staying all over the city, but Justin is right across from the Institute of Contemporary Art and over the water is Logan Airport. SO he has an awesome view of Boston Harbor, I'm guessing.
Yeah, if I was still at UMass Boston, I'd be fucking taking the train to school with Cirque du Soleil performers. And that kills me. WHY'D I GET INTO ART SCHOOOLL waah.
Yeah, so Justin said you're not allowed to take pictures, but that I could if I wanted to... so I did. :)
Also: none of this would be possible if not for Rod :) So thanks!

| Coldplay. TD Banknorth, Boston, MA. August 4th, 2008. |
[07 Aug 2008|01:31am] |
COLDPLAY
COLDPLAY!
I took the commuter rail into the city on Monday and met up with Timothy in South Station. We headed to TD Banknorth Garden. I planned on getting there after the opening band.. I didn't even know who was opening. But we got there just in time to see them.. a group called Santogold. Who turned out to be kinda cool. It was a half nerd/ half hip hop-reggae-ska whatever band. We liked them.
I knew a few people going to the show, but didn't run into any of them. I did see Shoshana though! She was a level above us, so we found eachother and waived and air-hugged and it was cute.
All of a sudden, everyone started clapping and screaming, standing up and taking pictures. I couldn't see why, but something was happening in the next section over. Eventually, word of mouth had it that Gwyneth Paltrow was there, and everyone was taking her picture. That was like.. the most exciting part for me, hahaha. Makes sense since she's married to Chris Martin.. but you'd think she'd sit backstage?
Apparently... according to newspapers and Perez Hilton.. Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen (Pats pregame at Gillette this week,) Steven Speilberg, Jerry Seinfeld, Kate Bosworth and Blythe Danner were also in the audience, two sections from where we were sitting. Which makes sense, since Chris Martin joked about how the audience should be at home watching Seinfeld reruns. I keep trying to find pictures, but apparently Live Nation didn't allow any professional pictures being taken. Did I really sit that close to a huge group of celebrities and not know it? Woe is me. That's the closest I'm ever coming to Hollywood.
Sooo, Coldplay came out around 9:15. The setlist was:
Life in Technicolor Violet Hill Clocks In My Place Viva la Vida Fix You God Put A Smile Upon Your Face Yes Speed of Sound Yellow The Scientist Politik Strawberry Swing (?) Lovers in Japan Death and All His Friends
It seemed like they didn't play long.. but they played an hour and 45 minutes. A lack of old songs is always upsetting, but I suppose that's expected with the new album and all. Although I could've done without "Yes," "Strawberry Swing" and "Life in Technicolor."
"Clocks" was so disappointing! But I suppose nothing beats this..... (which I also filmed.. LOL Kodak camera) Which is the greatest performance of Clocks ever. I think "Clocks" is their biggest song, and they shouldn't have played it two songs in. They played all of their hits, which are also my favorite songs, so that was good. I think "Politik" was one of my favorites. They all went into the audience and stood in the next section over for "The Scientist"... but I couldn't see over everyone's head. I always think it's so cool when bands do that! "Lovers in Japan" was amazing, as that's my favorite song off the new album. Every time the chorus came on, butterflies flew out of the top of the arena. And then the whole place went black, and glowing butterflies fell down over the entire place and it was just adorable.
The stage was cool. They had weird giant moving balls that projected images (coughTHE CLOUD IN VAREKAIcough) all over the arena. and cool lights and lasers... but I think their last tour had MUCH better lights.
Oh, Chris Martin. He was basically skipping up and down the stage on one foot. He was dancing like an ass. I suppose it's a good thing.. he was really energetic and into it, and was happy to be there performing. Buuut he kinda came off like an egotistical douche sometimes. He's stop a song a verse early, or wait a while to finish a song. And a few times he stopped in the beginning of a song and would swear and start all over. I kinda feel like being one of the most successful bands in the world got to his head a bit.
The first time I saw them, I was in awe at how amazing their concert was.. it was the greatest show I'd seen up to that point. This show wasn't as great, but it was still fun and awesome and when I remember back to it, I get all excited again. They've been playing Coldplay on the radio nonstop all week and I've been really excited about going. I think overall.. the reason I loved them more the first time I saw them live, three years ago, is because they were touring for "X&Y" which was my favorite album, and had all my favorite songs. "Viva la Vida" I'm not too crazy about.
And it was my first concert with Tim and I finally got to be that lame couple holding eachother throughout the whole show. Then again, I think the audience was entirely made up of girlfriends dragging their boyfriends to see Coldplay. And it was awesome.

| Mindless Self Indulgence. Webster Theater, Hartford, CT. July 2, 2008. |
[05 Jul 2008|05:52pm] |
On Wednesday, July 2, Karyn, Meridith, Kelley and I drove to Hartford, CT to see Mindless Self Indulgence and THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE at Webster Theater.

The drive down took us about an hour and a half. Hartford is seriously the most ghetto city I've ever been to. And there's NOBODY AROUND. There's literally nothing to do in the entire city.
We got there kinda late, around 8pm. The first band, Julien-K was playing. They were pretty good. The venue was packed, we were all stuck in the back for a while. The audience was great and crazy and I loved it.
Then, my beloved BIRTHDAY MASSACRE came on. I was in a shitty spot, so my videos came out bad, and I couldn't see too well which sucked, since I love them so much. I would have been so much happier up front, but I should've been there hours earlier. My pictures are terrible, too. But, after missing them twice when they came to Boston, I was finally happy to see them live. The audience sucked though during their set, I was the only person dancing in my area. Their set included:
Red Stars Goodnight Kill The Lights Lover's End Happy Birthday Looking Glass Blue Walking With Strangers
BLUE.. I heard Blue live... finally.
Mindless Self Indulgence came on next. I got pretty close to the front, but once they started, I fucking diiied. Their audience is crazy. I got pushed back and off to the side, and seperated from my friends the entire show. The kids there are fucking nutty. They mostly played their new music which I don't mind because I like their new album a lot. I never knew how fucking hot and amazing and kickass Lyn-Z is.. and I wish I could be as cool as her. And I had no idea Jimmy Urine was married to the singer of Morning Wood. She came onstage and sang during "Get It Up".. I don't know if she did that every show. Some of what they played:
Shut Me Up Mastermind Lights Out Never Wanted To Dance Animal Get It Up Ultra Sex (Faggot) Bitches Straight to Video
We hung outside for an hour to wait for the bands to come out. This group of dweeby guys came over and sat with us, and we just got up and walked away. I saw Chibi of TBM get on the bus, but I never did get to meet her :***((. I met the rest of the band, and they were all adorable and nice. Rainbow actually introduced himself, which a member of a band I've met has never done. Then I met three other members, and Rhim got accidently bumped into me which was kinda awkward and weird. But that's ok.
Then Steve Righ? came out, but basically ran to the bus making fun of everyone on the way. Kitty was outside the bus signing autographs, and she was really friendly and sweet. Then Jimmy came out with Chantal. Lyn-Z came out last, and she was also really really sweet and nice and talkitive.
On the ride home, the highway turned into one lane, and we sat there for 40 minutes and only drove 2 miles. It was awful. We left at 12:30, and didn't get home until 3am.
IT WAS FUN AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL NNNIIINNNN!!!

| Cirque du Soleil's Kooza. |
[13 Apr 2008|12:03am] |
On Friday, April 11th, I saw Cirque du Soleil's newest touring show, Kooza in Hartford, Connecticut.
( KOOZA ) --------
I must thank Rod for asking Justin to show us backstage. It was totally fucking awesome of him to do that and it completely made the night amazing and unforgetable. So thank you :)
- The show itself was interesting. It was different from the other shows. Except for maybe one or two acts, I didn't feel like any of them ended with a bang or amazing move. I'm also not entirely a fan of traditional circus acts such as juggling, tightwires or bikes, but this show made them interesting.
- The music was great and I'd love to get my hands on the soundtrack. One of the singers was amazing, Tara I believe. I loved her voice. I wish I could've seen the singers more, for the most part they stayed up on their balcony thing.
- The costumes were all amaaazing, as with the makeup. I remember being so disappointed with Corteo, thinking they used boring makeup and costumes, but I ended up loving those. The costumes for Kooza were all gorgeous.
- This show made me appreciate Corteo more, and I wish I'd seen it more than three times. And miss Varekai with a GODDAMN PASSION.
- I had so many perfect opportunities to take pictures or film the show, but I didn't wanna deal with it. Plus, pictures wouldn't come out nearly as good as Dina's, so why bother!
We left Hartford at 11:45, and didn't get home until 1:20. Driving at night sucks, especially in the rain.
***
When Kooza comes to Boston in September, the tents are no longer being put up in Revere, a ghetto town north of Boston. It's now going to be put up in DORCHESTER... the most ghetto town in Massachusetts... ALSO DIRECTLY NEXT TO MY COLLEGE, UMASS BOSTON. I would be able to fucking see the tents from my classrooms, if I were still going to UMass Boston in the fall. If I didn't get into MassArt, I was going to work as an usher at Kooza cause I could just walk over there right after class, but now at MassArt, I'll be a bit farther away and my classes will interfere with working, so I can't do it. One day, I will fucking work as an usher, goddamnit! But damn, the tents will be 20 minutes away from my house! It makes me wish I didn't get into art school, hahhaha.
Anyway,

| Angels & Airwaves. The Palladium, Worcester, MA. Feb 17th, 2008. |
[20 Feb 2008|01:19pm] |
I haven't been to a club show in SO FUCKING LONG!!!! June was the last time I was at a show in a club. I MISSED IT!
I SAW 1/4 OF 30 SECONDS TO MARS bwuahaha.
So, we go to Worcester. About an hour away, the drive wasn't so bad. The audience? FUCKED UP. Nobody was over the age of 15. EVERYONE had braces and acne. Those fucking kids kept farting and stinking the place up. It was awful! For whatever reason, THEY WOULDN'T STOP FUCKING PUSHING. I've been to countless shows before... inbetween bands, YA FUCKING STAND STILL. These little bitches would push forward, and backward, then forward again. You couldn't stand still and it was fucking annoying. When no music was playing, they'd push you! Also, everyone was under the height of 5 feet. Everyone looked tiny and scrawny, which is why I think everyone kept moving around so much cause all these little bitches couldn't keep themselves standing. There were sooo many little girls around I wanted to die. I felt way too old/ big/ strong/ cool to be there, hahaha. I had no idea AVA fans were little pussy scenester bitches.
We sat through 2 really god fucking awful bands.. I don't know the first one, but Meg and Dia were last and I wanted to shooooot myseeellllfff.
Then ANGELS & AIRWAVES!!!!!!!!!! They opened with "Call to Arms" and then:
It Hurts Love Like Rockets Everything's Magic Distraction The Adventure Breathe Rite of Spring Secret Crowds Sirens Valkyrie Missile STAR OF BETHLEHEM! True Love The War
They put on a good show. It the beginning, everyone was dancing and freaking out, and it was amazing. By the third song, everyone died so nobody moved, which was kinda nice. But in the middle, it got boring because they only played new, slow songs. They ended with VALKYRIE MISSILE, which was fucking AMAZING. AND THEN AN ENCORE OF STAR OF BETHLEHEM!!! and The War. Amazing. Tom's face kept twitching really bad, and he kept like, picking his nose as if it were really itchy. He must've been on something.. he was weird. But I also heard they were all sick.
So, it's really weird seeing Matt perform with a different band. I was all, where's Jared Leto! I don't remember him singing with 30, but he sang with AVA.
Funny though, I DID see some Echelon in the crowd.
Also, I was completely and totally molested. Some kid behind me wouldn't let me go the ENTIRE show. And then started getting waaaayyy too close for comfort, putting his hands in my pockets. He eventually attempted to put his hand down my skirt, which made me turn around and tell him to "GET THE FUCK OUT." Then he kissed me on the cheek. Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh gross 15 yr olds with braces and acne. I feel dirty and gross right now hahaha. Why does this always happen to me at shows?
Apparently I got kicked in the face, cause I have a painful bruise on my forehead that hurts like a bitch. And Meridith's nose is super bruised and swollen. How the fuck did we get beat up at a concert full of little emo bitches?! The hell!
We waited out by the buses for 15 minutes, but it was rainy and cold, so we left. I believe they all came out later on in the night. I've already MET Matt 5 times, so I'm good!

SPICE GIRLS.
TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, Ma. January 30th, 2008.
!!!!!!!
I haven't seen the Spice Girls since I was 7 years old. I've been DREAMING about this night for years!
Karyn, Kelley, Meridith, Jessie and I were supposed to leave by 5pm, but Kelley took forever and we didn't leave until 6pm. We had all gone out and bought new outfits just for tonight... sparkly/see-through/sequined dresses or shirts... granted I wore a plain black dress and Karyn wore a grey jacket. Still.
We had a few errands to run first, but we got to the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston around 7:15. I've never been to a concert where every single person is a girl. There were almost no children there, which was surprising. It was all girls my age.
We had the first row of the balcony. So we were super high up, but we were right in the front so we had an awesome view. You could see behind the stage. It was great.
The show started at 8:10pm. There was no opening band. It was intense! They opened with Spice Up Your Life, followed by:
Stop Naked Headlines Lady Is A Vamp 2 Become 1 Viva Forever It's Raining Men (Gerri cover) Say You'll Be There Maybe Baby (Emma cover) Holler Let Love Lead The Way I Turn To You (!) (Mel C cover) Mama Celebrate/ We Are Family Goodbye Wannabe Recap of Spice Up Your Life
There's a few I'm leaving out I think.
They put on a fantastic show. Everyone SCREAMED whenever Victoria sang or was shown on the TV screens. They all have great voices, the best being Mel C. Emma's voice seemed really high pitched and a bit strange. The stage was neat. Their costumes were SOOO fucking sparkly!
It's not until I watched my videos did I realize they lipsynched a lot of songs. Just little parts here and there (and mostly Victoria) but yeah.
Right before the show started, I saw a few women walking some children and a freaking newborn right up to the front of the stage to sit. And a bunch of girls were taking pictures of them. And throughout the show, Victoria, Emma and Mel B would go over to the front and bend down and wave. So all their little babies were in the front! It was adorable. I only saw one of Victoria's kids, one of Mel B's.. and I'm not sure who the baby belonged to.
Everything was great about the show except for the very very end, which was like, a recap of Spice Up Your Life where they dance and play around on stage. Just as these huge canons set off confetti, all the music just STOPPED. And the girls just kept singing and dancing with their 20 backup dancers.. and everyone's like.. what? So that sucked, I filmed it. Which wasn't exactly the BEST way to end the show, but shit happens.

Get to the Tweeter Center right at 3pm as Mindless Self Indulgence starts playing. We missed their first song, but that was alright. They played all the songs we love, including "Faggot", "Bitches", "Stupid Motherfucker"..... yes... they're all song titles. They put on a KICKASS show. Jimmy Urine is absolutely fascinating to watch. It was my first time seeing them. It was SO hot in that 45 minutes in the sun.
Karyn, Meridith, Kelley and I sit in the shade for an hour or so. We saw a bunch of people we knew; Caroline, Harry, Barry, Alex, Ally, Chucky, Brendan and Eric. We then headed to the lawn. The open seats were open to everyone cause I guess ticket sales sucked, so we sat down which was wonderful.
Placebo came on after Julien-K. This was my first time seeing Placebo, and I was very excited, especially after Rod's entry about them. They played all the songs I know. However, Brian's voice wasn't exactly that good... their performance was alright. Kelley was really disappointed with them, saying that they suck live. I was just happy I got to see them.
HIM was next. They have no stage presence whatsoever and Ville fucking stands there and doesn't move AT. ALL. They were awful. I didn't pay any attention whatsoever. Taking Back Sunday came on after HIM. They were good. I only knew one or two songs by them. The lead singer looks so scuzzy though. My Chemical Romance performed after TBS... and they stole the show. They had a really cool stage set up. ...... Gerard IS actually beautiful and I feel gross saying that. They put on a great show. I still don't like their music, but that's ok.
Linkin Park FINALLY came on. They were ok. They played a lot of slow songs and songs off the new album (which is complete and utter shit.) The songs they played from Hybrid Theory and Reanimation were great though... I forgot that I knew every single word. Those songs were awesome to sing to. I've never seen LP live, even though they are the first "metal" band I ever liked. They were the band that got me into "rock" music, those long 8 years ago back in 7th grade, hahaha. Chester really DOES have a beautiful voice though, and he has a powerful voice. The crowd went crazy for LP, and that was fun to watch.
In a nutshell, the show was alright. I was fighting with my friends a lot so that sucked. We had horrible, horrible seats and were really far away.
----------------
The best part of the night happened inbetween sets. They had giant TV screens all over the venue that displayed text messages people could send in. There were some fucking hilarious ones, like this one...

... people were getting proposed to left and right. Every time a message said "Scream for MCR!/ TBS!/ LP!/ MSI!"... people would fucking screeeeam. Whenever people wrote about Red Sox, people screamed. Then some funny people would be like, "Yay Yankees!" and those would get booed. And then there were funny ones like these:

Oh, people. I took fucking 60 pictures of the txt messages!

| Shiny Toy Guns. |
[05 Aug 2007|05:29am] |
Today I saw Shiny Toy Guns :)

Karyn, Caroline, Harry, Meghan and I left for Providence around 3:30pm. We got there just about 4pm. The show was.. of course.. in a ghetto little area in a dirt parking lot on a pier.. or something. The show was part of WBRU's Summer Concert Series.
We waited for about an hour. I met up with Tim for a little bit before standing infront of the stage. Everyone around me was about 15 years old and about 5 feet tall. Anyway, the first band came on, Triangle Forest. I really quite liked them. I'm falling in love with more and more bands with synthesizers and that makes me happy. They were pretty good, despite one of their instruments completely breaking and them not being able to finish the song. One guy was singing and playing the keyboard, one dude was drumming on some weird computer-like thing, and a girl was doing the synthesizers. I WANNA BE IN A BAND LIKE THAT.
Then, our beloved SHINY TOY GUNS came on. They were fantastic. I LOVE MIKEY. Ugh, watching him play the drums was amazing. If I could play an instrument, it'd be the drums. Carah's voice seems different in real life than on the album (however.. her voice seems different in every song on the album anyway.) Chad was great, he sounds wonderful. It was funny... they were talking about how bright the sun was and how they wanted sunglasses, and one of the cocky guys beside me yells, GIVE RUSSEL CROWE SOME SUNGLASSES!!! and Chad goes, "Wow, like I don't hear that ALL the time! I'M THE GLADIATOR!" and it was hilarious, because he is the spitting image of Russel Crowe. They were so friendly to the crowd, and they did an AMAAAAAAAAZZZZZZZING cover of a Depeche Mode song, Stripped. Oh my god it was fantastic.
It was so funny... during their last song, "You Are The One," everyone got so into it, that a fucking moshpit started up right beside me. FOR SHINY TOY GUNS. Then the police came and it ended, but it was still hilarious. Also, some douchebag kept throwing bottles from the front to the back, and a huge group of macho dudes kept going up to him and giving it back and telling him to throw it out... well the kid kept throwing them after that, so throughout the entire concertm this group of like, 10 guys, all pushed everyone out of the way to go and pick on the kid. It was funny. Sorta.
We left after Shiny. We woulda stayed for The Bravery, but we were lazy. We would have loved to stay behind and attempt to meet Shiny as well, but they were doing another show or something somewhere else in Providence tonight, so I figured they wouldn't be around. Also, Karyn and I wanted to get piercings before we left.
So we headed to Evolution where Karyn got her tragus pierced, and I got my other snug pierced. The piercer chose to put this ginormous hoop in my ear and it's so big, it looks funny. It barely hurt, but now it's throbbing. I didn't even get the cute star bead again this time because he said that will irritate it :( So basically, this makes the 24th hole I've put into my body, but the 20th piercing that I currently have.
Going back to the car from the concert, I saw someone with a 30 Seconds to Mars glyphic sticker, and I freeeeeeeeeeeeeaked out. I left them a nice message on their windshield.... of course, me being the fucking loser I am, found them on the 30STM message board.

Guess who Iiiiiii saaawww yesterday :))))

Korn.

Evanescence.

Flyleaf.

Atreyu.
Karyn, Meridith, Kelley and I left for Mansfield around 3:30. There was some bad traffic due to construction, and we got there a bit late. We met up with Trav, Chris, and a few others as soon as we got there.
We went to the second stage first. We watched Twin Method play, which was fun because they were British and had really cool hair and matching outfits. They were alright. We MOSTLY watched the ridiculous pit infront of the stage.
Karyn, Mer and I got bored, so we sat on a bench and watched everyone walk by. We were right infront of the door that lead to the backstage of the Main stage, so we watched bands walk in and out. I don't know what bands, though. At one point, Meridith's skanky friends were following some creepy looking Backstage dude, and they walked by us and said, "WE'RE GOING BACKSTAGE!!".... and they went back there. We three just looked at eachother and wondered how much cock those girls were gonna have to suck to get back there. Luckily, they only stayed there for about 3 minutes before coming out, and they followed the dude to somewhere else. Basically, he was full of shit and just leading a bunch of wasted girls anywhere to fuck them. It was amusing.
Anyway, we head down to the PIT around 5pm I think. We were one person behind the barricade, so we were right upfront.
We catch the last of Heallyeah.Flyleaf comes on not long after. Lacey cut her hair (this probably isn't a new fact, but the last time I saw them, she had long blonde hair) into this cute black choppy thing. I've always liked a few songs by them, but I just borrowed the album from Mer the other day, and I do really like them. Atreyu came on after Flyleaf. I could have sworn I'd seen them live before, but I don't think I have. They were at Ozzfest last year, but I don't think I watched. They were really good, and I liked them a lot. Kelley was going insane during them.
Soooo yeah. These people infront of us were saving spots with giant backpacks, which was really annoying. This isn't highschool, you know? I saw a lot of Evanescence fans.... but they were 12 year old girls who had to bring their parents with them.
Around 7:50, Evanescence came on! The intro had me squealing, as that's my favorite part of any song on the new album. Amy sounded great. I've never been upclose to her before (besides our 15 second semi-meet in April) and she is seriously, SO gorgeous. Her hair is fucking perfect... when my hair was that long, it was totally NOT like that. She was wearing a really pretty sparkly belt, with a black and white ripped skirt, and purple tights. She must DIE at the end of the night after singing. I was singing my heart out and my voice is gone in like, seconds! I loved every second of their performance.

KORN came on around 9:30pm. The stage was intense. They had an elevated walkway stretching across the entire stage. There were chairs set up on the right side of the stage, and a bunch of people were sitting in them... some looked like fans, and there was one girl with distgustingly platinum blonde hair, a shitload of makeup, and the skimpiest white and pink minidress I've ever seen. I would very much say groupie, but who am I to peg someone! but Lacey from Flyleaf was sitting next to a young boy (who ended up helping Jonathan throw the t-shirts out into the audience at the end of the show.) It was so funny... at one point towards the end of the show, I look over to them, and the kid, who must've been about 12 or 13, was COMPLETELY PASSED OUT. His head was leaning all the way back and his mouth completely open. Completely asleep, while onstage at a KORN concert.
They sounded great. Jonathan really does have an amazing voice. The intro wasn't nearly as exciting this year as it was last year. They mostly played old music that I've never listened to before, so that kinda sucked. I thought I knew a lot of Korn, but apparently I don't. Last years show was MUCH better in the sense that I knew almost every song last year. Some crazy drunk bitch kept pushing everyone around near us, which eventually pushed Karyn and I up to the barricade, so it was actually really good.
At the end, Munky threw his pick into the audience, and where did it land? IN MY TITS. It fucking fell into my cleavage, hahahaha. How great is that. It's black, and one one side says "Korn" and the other, is the creepy white face of a little boy with red and yellow eyes.

I WAS, however, VERY DISAPPOINTED that Amy Lee and Korn didn't do a duet... isn't that like.. WHY they were on this tour together?!!? Their duet came out, a month before it was announced that they were doing this tour. So, I was sad that they didn't do SOME sort of song together. For christs sake... Chino Moreno and Corey Taylor came out onstage at last years show!
Basically, the show was pretty good, but not nearly as good as last years. Last year was so great because a.) They were filming at our show and we ended up on the DVD, b.) It was our first time being so close to the stage, so it was exciting, c.) I saw Dir en grey, and I never thought I ever would, ever. That, and none of us knew half the songs that Korn played, and they didn't play any of the really fun hits.
Also, the PIT was fucking AWFUL. Last year, I was stuck with four 6 foot tall sweaty dudes on all sides, and I was fucking squished like a motherfucker. Like, it was so bad I was seriously scared for my life. I had to look up to the ceiling just to gasp for breath... BUT IT WAS ALL FUCKING FUN!! This year, I was surrounded by TINY little girls everywhere. Nobody pushed AT ALL, everyone just kinda stood still. A FEW people crowd surfed, and that was it. People didn't even jump! There were a lot of empty seats in the whole place as well.
All in all, I had a good time :)
